Cookies Policy
What cookies this website uses, why, and how you can control them.
This policy explains how easievs.co.uk ("this website"), operated by Easi Evs Limited, uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage), in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They're widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. "Similar technologies" include browser local storage, which we use to remember your cookie choice.
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit this website, a banner asks whether you'd like to accept analytics cookies. Nothing beyond strictly necessary local storage is set until you choose "Accept all." You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page.
3. Cookies and local storage we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| easievs_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don't ask again every visit | Strictly necessary (browser local storage, first-party) | Until you clear your browser data |
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors | Analytics (third-party, Google) — only set if you accept | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics 4 — persists session state and campaign data | Analytics (third-party, Google) — only set if you accept | Up to 2 years |
We do not currently use any advertising, retargeting, or social media tracking cookies (such as Meta/Facebook Pixel). If that changes in future, we'll update this policy and our consent banner accordingly.
4. Strictly necessary vs. analytics cookies
Strictly necessary: required for the website to function as intended (for example, remembering your cookie preference). These don't require consent under PECR and can't be switched off.
Analytics: help us understand how visitors find and use the site (which pages are popular, how people navigate, roughly how many visitors we get) so we can improve it. These are only set with your consent, and data is processed with IP addresses anonymised.
5. How to control or withdraw consent
- Use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer to reopen the banner and change your choice at any time.
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings menu — check your browser's help pages for instructions.
- You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from using your data across all websites.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary local storage may mean the cookie banner reappears on every visit.
6. Third-party privacy information
Where we use Google Analytics, Google processes data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We do not control how Google processes this data beyond the settings we configure.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
